Brahmapuri (Marathi: ) is a city and a municipal council in Chandrapur district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Brahmapuri is located at 2022N 7931E / 20.36N 79.51E / 20.36; 79.51. It has an average elevation of 229.5metres (753feet). Location:- Bramhapuri city is northeastern part of Chandrapur district, Maharashtra. As of 2001 India census, Brahmapuri had a population of 31,200. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Brahmapuri has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 82% and female literacy of 69%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. In 1854, when Chandrapur was formed as an independent district, it included Bramhapuri as a tehsil in 1874.
