Rayya mandi is a town and a nagar panchayat in Amritsar district in the Indian state of Punjab. Rayya is about 35 km from Amritsar and 45 km from Jalandhar. It is 5 km from the River Beas. Rayya is known for its grain market. It is also known for girls college, Shaheed Darshan Singh Pheruman College for Women and Shaheed Darshan Singh Pheruman Public School. It is situated on GT Road (National Highway). The major towns and villages near Rayya include: Baba Bakala, Beas, Pheruman, Dhianpur and Tangra. Most of the people residing in Rayya have come from the nearby villages. As per a story there were three brothers named Fattu, Feru and Aiya who took over the area almost 200 years ago and made three settlements at different locations. With time these three settlements grew up and became villages which were later on known as Fatuwal, Feruman and Aiya.
