Nandikotkur is a town and mandal in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Nandikotkur is located at 155200N 781600E / 15.8667N 78.2667E / 15.8667; 78.2667. It has an average elevation of 292 meters (961feet). Nandikotkur is a mandal (equivalent to County or borough), located 27km from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh. It serves as a major transit point connecting important cities like Kurnool and Guntur. The route to Srisailam from Kurnool also traverses through Nandikotkur. The legend says that Nandikotkur is surrounded by four bulls across the four corners of the place and hence the name Nandikotkur.Present MLA is Labbi venkata swamy since 2009.Krishna river is nearest river for this mandal.
