Nawada is a city and a municipality. It is also the headquarters of Nawada district in the Indian state of Bihar. Nawada is located at 2453N 8532E / 24.88N 85.53E / 24.88; 85.53. It has an average elevation of 80metres (262feet). It is divided into two blocks by the river, the Portion on the left bank being the older, while that on right bank is modern and Contains public offices, sub-jail, dispensary and schools.Kakolat Fall,a popular waterfall in Bihar is 24km far from the Town.. Many people come here from different places in India for picnics in the summer season. In 2011, Nawada had population of 97,884 of which 52,256 were male and 46,628 were female respectively. There was change of 22.49 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. With regards to Sex Ratio in Nawada, it stood at 936 per 1000 male compared to 2001 census figure of 946.
