Achampet, also known as Achampeta This is a one of the Mandal in Mahbubnagar district in the state of Andhra Pradesh , India. The town is a taluka headquarters, The current MLA is P. Ramulu. Achampet is located at 163727N 80727E / 16.62417N 80.12417E / 16.62417; 80.12417 in the foothills of the Nallamala Forest and is just about 13kilometres from the Umamaheswaram temple which is located in Rangapur village. It is approximately 130 kilometres from Hyderabad, it is on the way from mahabubnagar to Srisailam High way.
