Ahmadpur is a city and a municipal council in Latur District in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is a taluk headquarters town situated 50km north of Udgir, in Latur District. Chakur is 27km south-west while Nanded is 66km north-east. The major educational institutes in the city include Mahatma Gandhi College, Bal-Bhagwan Education Society and Vichar Vikas Mandal Education Society. Balasaheb Jadhav, Babasaheb Patil, Vinayakrao Jadhav, Babruvan Khandade are the chief political leaders of Ahmedpur taluka. Now Babasaheb Patil is the M.L.A. & M.C. member of S.R.T.M.University, Nanded. Babruvan Khandade are the former M.L.A. of Ahmedpur taluka.
