Gohana (Hindi: ) is a town and a municipal committee in Sonipat district in the Indian state of Haryana.
Gohana is located at 2908N 7642E / 29.13N 76.7E / 29.13; 76.7. It has an average elevation of 225metres (738feet).
Gohana town is situated in Sonipat district of Haryana. In ancient times, Gohana was known as Gavambhavana and was considered a sacred place. Prithviraj Chauhan had constructed a fort here. After defeating Prithviraj in 1192, Muhammad Ghori destroyed the fort. Later, Gohana also became a settlement of Taga Brahmins. All Muslim families left this place in 1947 and migrated to Pakistan.
