Badnagar (Hindi: ) is a city, and a municipality in Ujjain district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. As of 2001 India census, Badnagar had a population of 30,951. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Badnagar has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 55% of the males and 45% of females literate. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is located 45km from Ujjain & 72km from Indore. Badnagar is also the birth place of great Indian poet Kavi Pradeep. The city is depicted in Jab We Met movie as to the station where Kareena Kapoor, playing for the character Geet misses her train after getting down in order to convince Shahid Kapoor to get on the back on the train Kachori & Rabadi are the two famous dishes of Badnagar
