Bagaha (Hindi: ) is a city and a municipality in Pashchim Champaran district in the state of Bihar, India. Bagaha is located at 2432N 8502E / 24.53N 85.03E / 24.53; 85.03. It has an average elevation of 135metres (442feet). As of 2001 India census, Bagaha had a population of 91,383. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Bagaha has an average literacy rate of 38%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with 66% of the males and 34% of females literate. 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. Bagaha is on the banks of the Gandak river. The area is very fertile due to its location in the terai of the Himalayas. The main crops grown here are sugarcane, wheat and rice.
