Bangarpet is a town situated in Kolar District of Karnataka, India. It is the last railway junction in Karnataka before entering Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Bangarpet was originally called as Bowringpet, named after an officer working in the Kolar Gold Fields. The Town covers the 247 sq km .The areas named as vivekananda nagar,Vijay nagar ,etc.The bangarpet town was discovered .later it was developed at the time of KGF mining.
