Barachati is a block (Tahsil, Parkhand) in Gaya district of Bihar, India. It is near about 40km (25mi) from Gaya situated on Sher Shah Suri Marg (GT Road) between Kolkatta and Delhi. It is surrounded by the Kamaun range. The current MLA of the area is Shanti Devi. The main market is Barachatti, Sobh, Sarwan and Bhadeya. Sarwan Bazar (Mangal Bazar) is among the largest cattle and rural market in Bihar. It is located at 24310N 8510E / 24.516667N 85.016667E / 24.516667; 85.016667 at an elevation of 159m (522ft) above sea level. National Highway 2 passes through Barachati.
