Bhachau was one of many devastated towns in the Kutch region of the Indian state of Gujarat, during the 2001 Gujarat Earthquake. As of 2001 it had a population of 25,389 in 5,703 households. Bhachau is located at 2317N 7021E / 23.28N 70.35E / 23.28; 70.35. It has an average elevation of 41metres (134feet). One of the historical places in Bhachau is the hill of Kathhad Dada.
