Bijni is a town and a town area committee in Chirang district in the state of Assam, India. Bijni is located at 2631N 9040E / 26.52N 90.67E / 26.52; 90.67. It has an average elevation of 53metres (173feet). As of 2001 India census, Bijni had a population of 12,607. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bijni has an average literacy rate of 79%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 84% and female literacy of 73%. 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
