Buldhana (Buldana a hill sation) : ( - )is a city and a municipal council in Buldana district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Buldana is located at 1959N 7631E / 19.98N 76.51E / 19.98; 76.51. It has an average elevation of 639metres (2096feet). It is the headquarters of Buldhana District. It is located on the top of mountains in Ajanta ranges, in central India and is about 900 m above sea level. A salt-lake (Lonar lake) formed due to an impact is one of the main tourist attractions of this region. The crater is believed to be formed by the sheer impact of a Meteorite weighing 2 million tones, 60 meters wide, travelling at a speed of 90,000 kilometres per hour. This collision is said to have happened some 52,000 years ago creating a dent in the earth, and is 1830 meters in diameter and 150 meters deep.
