Buxar district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar state, India. The district headquarters are located at Buxar. This place was also known as "Siddhashram", "Vedgarbhapuri", "Karush", "Tapovan", "Chaitrath", "VyaghraSar", "Buxar" in ancient history.
