About Champa

Champa is a city and a municipality situated at bank of Hasdeo river in Janjgir-Champa district in the state of Chhattisgarh, India.Champa has an average elevation of 253 metres (830 feet). Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Champa has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 77% and female literacy of 56%. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.In Champa mainly two caste Dewangan and Soni are in majority.The city is divided in two parts by a temple of Samleshwari Devi which is situated in heart of the city.In one part of city Dewangan caste has many para and mohalla and in another part Soni caste has same.
