Chincholi (Kannada: ) is a panchayat town in Gulbarga district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is also the headquarters of the Chincholi taluk. Chincholi is located at 1728N 7726E / 17.47N 77.43E / 17.47; 77.43. It has an average elevation of 462metres (1515feet). The town is spread over an area of 6km. As of 2001 India census, Chincholi had a population of 17,158. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Chincholi has an average literacy rate of 56%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 65% and female literacy of 46%. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. Chincholi Taluk borders the following taluks of Gulbarga district: Gulbarga Taluk to the west, Chitapur taluk to the south-west and Sedam Taluk to the south.
