Samalkha is a town/tehsil and a municipal committee in Panipat district in the Indian state of Haryana. Industries in the town include cast iron from the capital Delhi on the way to Panipat/Ambala/Amritsar. As of 2001 India census,[1] Samalkha had a population of 29,974. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Samalkha has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 61.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 69%.
