Desaiganj is a town (a Tahsil Place) and a municipal council in the Gadchiroli district of the state of Maharashtra, India. As of the 2001 Indian census, Desaiganj had a population of 24,786. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Desaiganj has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 77%; female literacy is 62%. In Desaiganj, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age. The town is situated on the banks of river Vainganga and is an agriculture dominated.
