Devgadh Baria (sometimes Devgadbaria or just Baria) is a municipality in Dohad district in the state of Gujarat, India. It is a small town nestled in the foothills on the eastern border of Gujarat State. It was established in 1782. The state was ruled by Chauhan kings until it merger with the Union of India. The last ruler of Devgadh Baria was Maharawal Jaydeepsinhji Bahadur, Raja of Baria, married to the only daughter of H.H. Maharaja Sawai Shri Sir Man Singhji of Jaipur. Rajasthan, India. Devgadh Baria is located on the bank of Panam River; a town built very articulately in princely style. It is part of Dahod district, formerly Panchmahal District in the state of Gujarat. The town was also the capital of Baria State, a Princely State in the Rewa Kantha Agency of the Bombay Province during the British Raj. This town was established in the year 1782.
