About Eklahare

Eklahare is a census town in Nashik district in the state of Maharashtra, India. As of 2001 India census,[1] Eklahare had a population of 12,010. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Eklahare has an average literacy rate of 76%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 67%. In Eklahare, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. Eklahare houses the Nashik Thermal Power Station (NTPS). There is also the NTPS colony for the employees at the station. The thermal power station has rated capacity of 630 MW and has 3 units of 210 MW each. It uses a coal-fired boiler to produce steam for power generation.
