Akshay Kumar fondly known as Khiladi Kumar made his debut as a lead actor in the film Saugandh (1991). It was not until 1992 he got his first major hit with the movie Khiladi which gave him stardom. There was no turning back after that and Akshay Kumar at present is considered a very bankable star. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Filmfare Award for Best Villain for Ajnabee which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Akshays career so far are Khiladi (1992), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi (1996), Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi (1997), Sangharsh (1999), Ajnabee (2001), Garam Masala (2005), Rustom (2016), Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Pad Man (2018) and Kesari(2019) to name a few.
Akshay son of Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia was born on 9 September 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab. He completed his schooling at Don Bosco High School, Matunga. He then went on to pursue his bachelors degree in Guru Nanak Khalsa College but dropped out due to lack of interest. He received an honorary doctorate from the University of Windsor in 2008 for his contributions to Indian cinema.
