BIOGRAPHY

Barry Cox (,born 15 January, 1977) is a British pop star in China. Born and bred in Liverpool, England, Barry Cox was living a normal life as a salesman in an electrical store. Then in 1996, Barry yearned for something different and decided to pursue a lifestyle change. He wanted to travel and experience different cultures and languages. He took a job in a Chinese supermarket, enrolled in the local Chinese Pagoda Community Center and Wah Sing Chinese School and also learnt from the Chinese immigrants in Merseyside to learn the language. Within three years he successfully passed his Chinese GCSE. One day at the Liverpool Chinese Center, Barry volunteered to sing a Chinese song called “I Love You OK” by Leon Lai. At that time, he was beginning to learn the Chinese language and although he could not pronounce the words fluently; the audience applauded him for his superb efforts. Instantaneously, Barry knew he wanted to be a singer. This led to singing classes with daily practice sessions until he mastered the proper pronunciations and vocals. Barry is also a certified Interpreter where he passed with honours at Hong Kong Space university in 2005. Barry is unique and “one of a kind” in his chosen profession. He moved to Hong Kong to improve both Cantonese and Mandarin. He is the first Westerner to become an internationally renowned Cantopop/Mandopop singer. Over the past 11 years, he has garnered numerous singing awards in UK and Hong Kong. He regularly performs throughout UK, Hong Kong, China, Macau, Malaysia and Singapore and has a huge following that extends worldwide. He has also done commercials, theatrical performances, film, TV and radio shows. 2008 he completed his first single “Feel the Love” which was recorded by Shlepp Entertainment Limited. In 2013 Barry Signed with Hong Kong TVB as a professional actor.
