Barry Michael Cooper

Barry Michael Cooper is an American writer, producer and director best known for his work on the films New Jack City, Above the Rim and Sugar Hill.Coopers writing began career when he penned the 1987 Village Voice article, Teddy Rileys New Jack Swing. This brought him to the attention producer Quincy Jones who hired him to rewrite a screenplay which later became the basis of New Jack City.
