BIOGRAPHY
Basharat Peer, (born 1977) is a Kashmiri journalist, script writer, author, political commentator, and separatist, hailing from Kashmir and currently based in New York City. Peer is a fellow of the Open Society Institute in New York, a George Soros initiative. He maintains that both India and Pakistan are occupying forces in Kashmir and often calls the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir as Indian occupied Kashmir.
