David Cardoza is a former chairman and director of Northampton Town Football Club. In November 2015, in the wake of an impending administration and winding-up petition before a court hearing on Friday 27 November 2015 he agreed to sell a controlling stake in the club to Kelvin Thomas and was arrested by police on 26 January 2016 investigating the loss of over £10m loaned to the club by the local council. He is accused, along with a North London cartel of businessmen, of stealing the money. Local MP David Mackintosh is believed to have taken bungs to insure the loan was given to build the stand. In 2005 Cardoza had instigated plans to expand Sixfields Stadium, which will enable the capacity to double. He is the successor to Andrew Ellis and Ken Good as Chairman.
