American actor Dennis William Quaid, is widely known for essaying a wide variety of dramatic and comedic roles in movies like Breaking Away, The Right Stuff, Vantage Point, Footloose, The Parent Trap and more. Quaid dropped out of the University of Houston before graduating and moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career and which lost steam in the early 1990s, after he fought anorexia nervosa that brought on when he lost 40 pounds to play the tuberculosis-afflicted character of Doc Holliday in 'Wyatt Earp'. In 2009, Quaid guest starred in an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, playing Mr. Krabs' grandfather, Captain Redbeard and portrayed U.S. President Bill Clinton, alongside Michael Sheen in the 2010 film 'The Special Relationship'. Quaid is also a musician, and plays with his band, "The Sharks". He holds a flying license and is a five handicap golfer. Quaid has been married three times and has three children. He was married to actress P.J. Soles and parted ways with her after five years of matrimony. He was married to actress Meg Ryan for the second time, with whom he has son and separated from her after 9 years of marriage. In 2016 he has revealed that he is dating 32 years younger Santa Auzina. He also lends his name to the annual "Dennis Quaid Charity Weekend", a golf tournament that attracts numerous celebrities with the proceeds split among local children's charities.
