Dovan

Davan (دوان, also Romanized as Davān, Dawan, and Dovān) is a village in Deris Rural District, in the Central District of Kazerun County, Fars Province, Iran. In the Davani dialect it is pronounced : dou At the 2006 census, its population was 601, in 178 families.Davan in situated in a narrow valley at the foot of Mount Davān in the greater Zagros range. It is divided into upper (maʿale[maḥalla]-ye bār) and lower (ma ale [maḥalla]-ye duman) quarters. Some ruins dating from the Parthian and Sasanian periods are located approximately 4 km to the south of the village.
