Dushyant

Dushyant (born 1977 Kesarisinghpur, near the Indian–Pakistani border) is a widely published Hindi fiction writer and poet, Historian, Lyricist and ScreenWriter. His first collection of poems (2005) received an award from the Rajasthani Akademi, and his recent collection of poems, Prem Ka Anya (2011), received the Ramkumar Ojha Award.Dushyant was the founder and editor of the literary magazine Shabdkram. His first collection of short stories, July Ki Ek Raat, was published in June 2013 by Penguin. And with many editions till the date, it has been hugely popular and critically accliamed in literary circles.Dushyant has been invited to literature festivals like Youth Literary Festival of Sahitya Akademi( National Academy of Letters, INDIA) the Jaipur Literature Festival and Kritya International Poetry Festival. .He did BA(Hons) in History, studied Philosophy too. Then, He mastered in Modern Indian History, followed by qualifying UGC-NET, JRF. Which resulted into a DOCTORATE in History under the supervision of Well known Historian Dr.Pratibha Jain, Ex. Head, Department of History, University of Rajasthan and was examined by Professor Dilbagh Singh from Jawaharlal Nehru University , New Delhi. His area of specialization was Feminism/ Gender Studies. His doctoral dissertation (in History) entitled Striyan: Parde se Prajatantra tak, was published in 2012 by Rajkamal Prakashan, Delhi. He taught History at graduate and post graduate level for few years.And he has been a visting faculty for Rajasthani Literature at Centre for Rajasthan Studies, University Of Rajasthan , Jaipur too.He has spent few days at FTII, Pune to understand the medium of Cinema.He wrote a song for MTVs show Sound Trippin, which was composed by Gangs of Wassepur fame music director Sneha Khanwalkar. It was telecasted in the 5th episode of second season.His first Bollywood film as lyricist is Laal Rang Directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, Starring Randeep Hooda, Meenakshi Dixit, Akshay Oberoi, Pia Bajpayi, Desi haryanvi romantic song Bawli Booch has become a huge hitHe has written lyrics for few films like Asma directed by Sudipto Sen, Paradiso music directed by Sanjib Sarkar etc. Paradiso has been premiered at Cannes film Festival 2017.After a decade of journalistic career with Rajasthan Patrika Group, Jaipur, Now, He writes for films and lives in Mumbai
