BIOGRAPHY

Edward Regan Murphy professionally known as Eddie Murphy made his debut as an actor in the film 48 Hrs (1982). It was in 1984 he rose to fame with the film Beverly Hills Cop which gave him stardom. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Motion Picture for Trading Places which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Murphys career so far are 48 Hrs (1982), Trading Places (1983), The Golden Child (1986), The Nutty Professor (1996), Holy Man (1998), Bowfinger (1999), The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002), Dreamgirls (2006), Meet Dave (2008), Imagine That (2009), Dolemite Is My Name (2019), and Beverly Hills Cop film series to name a few. Murphy son of Lillian and Charles Edward Murphy was born on April 3, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York City. He attended Roosevelt High School in New York and Nassau Community College. He was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2015.
