BIOGRAPHY

Virginia Elizabeth Davis professionally known as Geena Davis made her debut as an actor in the film Tootsie (1982). It was in 1986 she gained recognition as an actor with the film The Fly which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Davis at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress for The Accidental Tourist which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Daviss career so far are Tootsie (1982), The Fly (1986), Beetlejuice (1988), The Accidental Tourist (1988), Thelma & Louise (1991), and A League of Their Own (1992) to name a few. Davis, daughter of Lucille and William F. Davis was born on January 21, 1956, in Wareham, Massachusetts. She attended Wareham High School and then attended New England College. She earned her Bachelors degree in Drama from Boston University.
