BIOGRAPHY

Geoffrey Roy Rush professionally known as Geoffrey Rush made his debut as an actor in Hoodwink (1981). It was in 2003 he gained world-wide recognition as an actor with the film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. There was no turning back after that and Rush at present is considered as a very bankable star. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Academy Awards for Best Actor for Shine which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Rushs career so far are Shine (1996), Elizabeth (1998), Shakespeare in Love (1998), Les Miserables (1998), Quills (2000), Frida (2001), The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (2004), Munich (2005), The Kings Speech (2010), and The Book Thief (2013) to name a few. Rush son of Merle and Roy Baden Rush was born on 6 July 1951, in Toowoomba, Queensland. He attended Everton Park State High School. He then pursued his Bachelors degree from the University of Queensland.
