Gerard James Butler professionally known as Gerard Butler made his debut as an actor in Mrs. Brown (1997). It was in 2007 he gained world-wide recognition as an actor with the film 300. There was no turning back after that and Butler at present is considered as a very bankable star. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the MTV Movie + TV Award for Best Fight for 300 which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Butlers career so far are Mrs Brown (1997), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Tale of the Mummy (1998), Dracula 2000 (2000), Reign of Fire (2002), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life (2003), and The Phantom of the Opera (2004) to name a few.
Gerard James Butler, son of Margaret and Edward Butler, was born on 13 November 1969 in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He attended St Mirins & St Margarets High School in Paisley. He then attended the University of Glasgow School of Law and Scottish Youth Theatre.
