BIOGRAPHY

Glenn Close made her debut as an actor in the film The World According to Garp (1982). It was in 1983 she gained recognition as an actor with the movie The Big Chill. There was no turning back after that and Close at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the LAFCA Award for Best Supporting Actress for The World According to Garp which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Closes career so far are The World According to Garp (1982), The Big Chill (1983), The Natural (1984), Fatal Attraction (1987), Dangerous Liaisons (1988), Reversal of Fortune (1990), 101 Dalmatians (1996), Air Force One (1997), Albert Nobbs (2011) and The Wife (2017) to name a few. Close, daughter of Bettine Moore Close and William Taliaferro Close was born on March 19, 1947, in Greenwich, Connecticut. She attended St. Georges School in Switzerland and Rosemary Hall from where she graduated in 1965. She then attended The College of William & Mary, double majoring in theater and anthropology.
