Holly Patricia Hunter professionally known as Holly Hunter made her debut as a lead actor in the film The Burning (1981). It was in 1987 she received the breakthrough of her career with the movie Raising Arizona which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Holly at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress for Broadcast News which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Hollys career so far are Broadcast News (1987), Raising Arizona (1987), Always (1989), The Piano (1993), The Firm (1993), Home for the Holidays (1995), Crash (1996), O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000), Thirteen (2003), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), and The Big Sick (2017) to name a few.
Hunter, daughter of Opal Marguerite and Charles Edwin Hunter was born on March 20, 1958, in Conyers, Georgia. She earned a degree in drama from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
