James Inhofe



James Mountain Inhofe (ˈɪnhɒf; born November 17, 1934) is the senior United States senator from Oklahoma and a member of the Republican Party. First elected to the Senate in 1994, he was the ranking member of the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW) and was its chairman from 2003 to 2007, and again from January 2015 until January 2017. Inhofe served eight years as the United States representative for before his election to the Senate in 1994 and also previously served as both an Oklahoma state representative and senator. Inhofe is most well known for his denial of global warming. He supports a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage and has proposed the Inhofe Amendment to make English the national language of the United States.
