Jamil Ahmed

Jamil Ahmed (date of birth unknown) was a East Pakistani cricketer who played five first-class matches for teams based in East Pakistan during the 1960s. He made his first-class debut during the 1963–64 season of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, playing a single match for East Pakistan against Bahawalpur. On debut, he took 2/39 while bowling in Bahawalpurs second innings, and scored ten not out in East Pakistans second innings, coming in third behind Mahmood Bokul and Javed Masood. Jamils next two matches came for Dacca in December 1964, during the 1964–65 edition of the Ayub Trophy, and he again played as a top-order batsman, as well as an occasional bowler. In March 1965, he also played a single match for a Dacca University and Education Board team in that seasons Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, without much success. His fifth and final match at first-class level came almost three years later, for Dacca University in the 1967–68 edition of the Ayub Trophy. In this match, played against the East Pakistan Greens at Dacca Stadium, Jamil recorded both his best bowling figures, 3/34 from 22 overs, and his highest score, 28 runs in Dacca Universitys second innings, although he had also reached 28 runs while playing for Dacca against Rajshahi in 1964. Jamil finished his career with 95 runs and eight wickets from his five first-class matches.
