BIOGRAPHY

Karthik Sivakumar professionally known as Karthi made his debut as a lead actor in the film Paruthiveeran (2007) which was his first major hit. There was no turning back after that and Karthi at present is considered a very bankable star. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for Paruthiveeran which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Karthis career so far are Paruthiveeran (2007), Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Paiyaa (2010), Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), Siruthai (2011), Madras (2014), Oopiri (2016), Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Kadaikutty Singam (2018), and Kaithi (2019) to name a few. Karthi son of actor Sivakumar and Lakshmi was born on 25 May 1977 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He completed his schooling at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School and St. Bedes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. He then pursued his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from Crescent Engineering College, Chennai. He earned his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Binghamton University, New York and he also attended two courses in basic filmmaking at the State University of New York.
