Manisha Koirala fondly known as Manya made her debut as an actor in the film Pheri Bhetaula (1989). It was not until 1994 she got her first major hit as an actor with the movie 1942: A Love Story which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Manisha Koirala was considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil for Bombay which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Manisha Koiralas career so far are 1942: A Love Story (1994), Bombay (1995), Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995), Agni Sakshi (1996), Indian (1996), Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997), Dil Se.. (1998), Kachche Dhaage (1999), Company (2002), Ek Chhotisi Love Story (2002), Elektra (2010), I Am (2010), Mappillai (2011), Lust Stories (2018), and Sanju (2018). to name a few.
Manisha Koirala daughter of Prakash Koirala, and Sushma Koirala was born on 16 August 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal. She completed her schooling at Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya in Varanasi and Army Public School (APS) of the Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi campus. In 2001, the Government of Nepal awarded her with the Order of Gorkha Dakshina Bahu, the second-highest honor of the country.
