BIOGRAPHY

Matthew David McConaughey professionally known as Matthew McConaughey made his debut as an actor in Dazed and Confused (1993). It was in 1996 that he gained recognition as an actor with the movie A Time to Kill which gave him stardom. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the MTV Movie Awards for Best Breakthrough Performance for A Time to Kill which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in McConaugheys career so far are Angels in the Outfield (1994), Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994), A Time to Kill (1996), Contact (1997), Amistad (1997), The Newton Boys (1998), Frailty (2001), The Wedding Planner (2001), How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Failure to Launch (2006), Fools Gold (2008), Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009), The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), Killer Joe (2011), Bernie (2011), Magic Mike (2012), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Interstellar (2014), Sea of Trees (2015), Free State of Jones (2016), Gold (2016), The Dark Tower (2017), and The Gentlemen (2019) to name a few. McConaughey son of Mary Kathleen and James Donald was born on November 4, 1969, in Uvalde, Texas. He attended Longview High School. He then joined the University of Texas at Austin in 1989 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film degree in 1993.
