Melvyn Bragg

Melvyn Bragg is an English broadcaster, author and parliamentarian.Born on 6 October 1939 in CarlisleThe son of Mary Ethel and Stanley BraggHe was given the name Melvyn by his mother after she saw the actor Melvyn Douglas at a local cinema.Bragg began his career in 1961 as a general trainee at the BBC.
