BIOGRAPHY

Morgan Freeman made his debut as an actor in the film Who Says I Cant Ride a Rainbow! (1971). It was in 1987 he got his breakthrough with the movie Street Smart which gave him stardom. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was in the Berlin International Film Festival for Best Acting Team (shared with Jessica Tandy) for Driving Miss Daisy which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Freemans career so far are Street Smart (1987), Driving Miss Daisy (1989), Glory (1989), Lean on Me (1989), The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Seven (1995), Amistad (1997), Deep Impact (1998), High Crimes (2002), Bruce Almighty (2003), Million Dollar Baby (2004), The Dark Knight Trilogy, Wanted (2008), Invictus (2009), Red (2010), and Now You See Me film series to name a few. Morgan Freeman son of Mayme Edna and Morgan Porterfield Freeman was born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee. He did his schooling at Broad Street High School in Greenwood, Mississippi. He took acting classes at the Pasadena Playhouse and dancing lessons in San Francisco. He is the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honor and has won three Obie Awards, one of the most prestigious honors for recognizing excellence in theatre for his performances in theatrical productions.
