Sir Patrick Stewart made his debut as an actor in Coronation Street (1967). He rose to fame by playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987–1994). He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Supporting Actor for Antony and Cleopatra which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Stewarts career so far are Excalibur (1981), Dune (1984), Green Room (2015), and X-Men film series to name a few.
Patrick Stewart son of Gladys and Alfred Stewart was born on 13 July 1940, in Mirfield, in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England. He attended Crowlees Church of England Junior and Infants School and Mirfield Secondary Modern School. He later received grants to attend the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to drama in 2010.
