Poornima Bhagyaraj (née Jayaram) is an Indian film actress of Malayalam and Tamil films. She has also done a few Hindi and Telugu films. She is best known for her leading roles from 1980 to 1985. Her on-screen pairings with Mohan in Tamil and Shankar in Malayalam were well acclaimed. Her father is from Pattukkottai and her mother is a Kerala Iyer from Chengannur born and broughtup in Mumbai. She married Tamil director, actor, producer and screenwriter K. Bhagyaraj on February 7, 1984 and has a daughter, Saranya and a son, Shantanu. She quit acting in films in 1984 prior to her marriage and made a comeback after 28 years in Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer in 2013.
