Preity G Zinta fondly known as Preity made her debut as an actor in the film Dil Se.. in 1998. It was not until 2000 she got recognized as an actor with the movie Kya Kehna which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Preity at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for Dil Se and Soldier which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Preitys career so far are Kya Kehna (2000), Chori Chori Chupke Chupke (2001), Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Dil Hai Tumhaara (2002), Armaan (2003), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Koi... Mil Gaya (2003), Veer-Zaara (2004), Salaam Namaste (2005), and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) to name a few. Preity daughter of Durganand Zinta and Nilprabha, was born on 31 January 1975 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. She completed her schooling at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Shimla. She then went on to pursue her bachelors degree in English honors from St. Bedes College, in Shimla and then started a graduate program in psychology. She also earned a postgraduate degree in criminal psychology. She was awarded the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award for being the sole witness against the Indian mafia during the 2003 Bharat Shah case.
