Ranbir Kapoor was born into a family that is widely regarded as royalty of Indian cinema, the Kapoor clan. The son of actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, he is the fourth generation Kapoor to embark upon a journey to entertain and enchant audiences with their bewitching acting and artistic talents. In order to perfectly chisel his rich acting lineage, he moved to New York City to pursue film-making at the School of Visual Arts and method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. After a brief stint behind the camera, as an assistant director in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's masterpiece Black (2005), he made his on-screen debut under the same director, with the critically acclaimed Saawariya (2007). His endearing performance immediately won him his first Filmfare Award - Best Male Debut. Within a short span of time, he has collated an impressive body of work that vividly shows his growth as an actor.
