Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon professionally known as Reese Witherspoon made her debut as an actor in the film The Man in the Moon (1991). It was in 1999 she got her recognition as an actor with the movie Cruel Intentions. There was no turning back after that and Witherspoon at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actress - Drama/Romance for Cruel Intentions which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Witherspoons career so far are Fear (1996), Cruel Intentions (1999), Election (1999), Legally Blonde (2001), Sweet Home Alabama (2002), Walk the Line (2005), Water for Elephants (2011), and Wild (2014) to name a few. Witherspoon, daughter of John Draper Witherspoon and Mary Elizabeth Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She attended Harding Academy and graduated from the all-girls Harpeth Hall School in Nashville. She then attended Stanford University as an English literature major but dropped out to pursue acting. In 2006 and 2015 she was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine and in 2019 She was listed among the Worlds 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes.
