Robert O'Rourke

Robert Francis Beto ORourke ˈbɛtoʊ (born September 26, 1972) is an American politician and the U.S. Representative for Texass 16th congressional district in his native El Paso, Texas.ORourke won the general election held in November 2012, after having defeated incumbent Representative Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary earlier that year. The district includes most of El Paso County. Prior to his election to Congress, ORourke was on the El Paso City Council from June 2005 to June 2011.On March 31, 2017, ORourke announced his candidacy for the United States Senate seat held by Republican Ted Cruz in the 2018 Senate race.
