BIOGRAPHY

Charles Robert Redford Jr. professionally known as Robert Redford made his debut as an actor in Tall Story (1960). It was in 1969 he gained recognition as an actor with the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid which gave him stardom. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Golden Globe Awards for New Star of the Year – Actor for Inside Daisy Clover which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Robert Redfords career so far are War Hunt (1962), Inside Daisy Clover (1965), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), Jeremiah Johnson (1972), The Sting (1973), The Way We Were (!973), and All the Presidents Men (1976) to name a few. Redford son of Martha Hart and Charles Robert Redford Sr. was born on August 18, 1936, in Santa Monica, California. He attended Van Nuys High School and graduated in the year 1954. He then attended the University of Colorado Boulder in Boulder, Colorado for a year and a half. He later studied painting at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and took classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. He was made a chevalier of the Légion dHonneur in 2010 and he was honored with a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
