Rangaraj Subbiah professionally known as Sathyaraj made his debut as an actor in the film Sattam En Kaiyil (1978). It was in 1987 he was noticed as an actor with the movie Vedham Pudhithu which gave him stardom. There was no turning back after that and Sathyaraj at present was considered a very bankable star. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Filmfare Awards South for Best Actor – Tamil for Vedham Pudhithu which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Sathyarajs career so far are Sattam En Kaiyil (1978), Vedham Pudhithu (1987), Nadigan (1990), Amaidhi Padai (1994), Villadhi Villain (1995), Periyar (2007), Onbadhu Roobai Nottu (2007), Nanban (2012), Raja Rani (2013), Baahubali (2015), Baahubali 2 (2017) and Kanaa (2018) to name a few. Sathyaraj son of Subbaiyan and Nathambal was born on 3 October 1954. He completed his schooling at St Marys Convent School, Coimbatore, and later studied for tenth standard from Suburban High School, Ramnagar, Coimbatore. He then went on to pursue a Bachelors degree in Botany from Government Arts College, Coimbatore.
